Recently we gave the children some paper on the easels and suggested that they might like to paint some forms of transport. A few children painted a form of transport but most painted a rainbow, people or the old “preschool grey” (ie cover the paper with as much paint as you can and then mix it altogether until it turns a khaki/grey kind of colour).
This prompted us to try an idea that we had seen on some ECE blogs: painting provocations. I’d seen various objects added to the paper such as googly eyes or a stick. We decided we’d add a road to the bottom of our paper and see what transpired from there. The results were certainly different to our first attempt.
