I thought I’d share with you a few of the activities that are on our activity tables but not the main focus for the day. There are usually one or two activities we ask all children to participate in and then other activities that are optional. Here’s a few of these provocations on the tables:
FARM ANIMAL MEASUREMENT ACTIVITY
from Mrs Kilburn’s Kiddos
FARM PRE WRITING ACTIVITY
(I found these online but I’m not sure where)
BUILD A FARM – TINKERING TABLE PROJECT
We decided on the spur of the moment to build our own farm as a group project. We started off by scrunching up newspaper and taping it to some cardboard to make hills for our farm. We also taped down a ring of newspaper to make a dam. We covered the newspaper with strips of butcher’s paper soaked in a half and half PVA and water mix.
Once the paper dried we painted over it with green and brown paint. The plan is to add a barn, fencing, a farmhouse and animals in the future.
