Here in Australia Christmas Day can get quite hot. This year it’s tipped to hit the 39C (102.2F) mark in Western Australia. That said, when we do Christmas activities we do include a lot of winter Christmas activities just for fun. This year we made some snowmen pictures. I first saw this idea from The Elementary Art Room on Pinterest. I liked the fact that it showed the snowman from a cropped perspective.
The children drew a semi circle for the snowman’s head and then filled in the space with white squares. We called that “colouring in with paper”. Once that was complete they added a carrot nose and black squares for the eyes and mouth. They used white crayon to draw in some snowflakes onto the blue card.
And although there’s no snow in WA, I think there’s nothing we’d like better than a little snow to play in on Christmas Day in Australia!
