Last week we spent a few days completing our Three Little Pigs scene. We started off by making the background. We painted the top half of an A3 sheet blue for the sky. We painted the bottom half a yellow colour. We then placed gladwrap over the top of the yellow to create a ripply type effect and add some texture to the yellow.
Each day we made a new house. The first day we used straws to blow yellow and brown paint around a piece of paper. When it was dry we cut out a rectangular shape from the paper to form our straw house. The second day we stuck popsticks onto a piece of paper and added a cardboard door.
We added some roofs to the houses and then sketched some pigs and a wolf. Some children chose to draw just one pig stating that the rest were in their houses while others drew all three or just two. (I had to take a photo of this little pig drawing as I found it simply adorable!)
Here is what our finished product looked like.
