Last term we looked at different sea creatures while exploring colour at the same time. We made a book called ‘What Do I See? based on Eric Carle’s Brown Bear, Brown Bear and took it home at the end of the term. We had a lot of fun making a whole display of colourful sea creatures. One of my favourites was the purple jellyfish.
As we completed each page in the book we made a corresponding craft to go with the page. Here’s our purple jellyfish page:
We used some styrofoam cups to make our purple jellyfish. Don’t they look gorgeous hanging together as a group?
I’ve created an e-Book called A Sea of Colour which is a topic based unit of work incorporating a sea theme alongside a colour focus. The book is organised into colour sections. Included are craft activities, circle time focus questions and completed pages from the “What Do I See?” book based on Eric Carle’s Brown Bear, Brown Bear. The pack also includes a blackline master of the “What Do I See?” book in the appendix. If you’re interested it can be purchased from here.
