What can you do with 10 black dots? “One dot can make a sun or a moon when the day is done. Two dots can make the eyes of a fox…” Ten Black Dots* by Donald Crews is a counting book that shows what black dots can be transformed into. It’s a gorgeous rhyming story where the dots turn from eyes on a fox to wheels on a train.
We read through the story and then brainstormed what we could possibly turn black dots into. We gave the children some scraps of card, some precut black circles and let them create their own designs. They came up with a huge array of different ideas.
